Chemical Operator
Overview
Job Summary:
The chemical operator’s job is to collect, calculate and execute materials for the purpose of making chemical composition formulated batches of material for a coating application process and other assignments or duties. Ensure all processes adhere to strict quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment and ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance.
- Handle raw materials and finished products with care, utilizing warehouse experience and materials handling skills to ensure proper storage and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the department area.
- Conduct routine maintenance and up keep of equipment.
- Read and interpret organized formulas and calculate mathematical equations to collate proper measurement of materials ensuring chemicals are mixed accurately while following safety protocols.
- Collect materials by weight or volume.
- Transport by use of a forklift to safely move material and chemicals.
- Physically add material to mix tanks.
- Maintaining inventory control and rotation of raw material stock in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Quality teams during quality testing procedures to verify product specifications meet company standards.
- Follow all safety procedures diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response protocols.
Experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing environments, preferably within chemical or related industries.
- Previous experience in the coating film industry is preferred.
